Essential Duties & Required Qualifications
- Cleans and maintains golf cart fleet in first class condition.
- Provides top notch service by delivering golf carts to customers as they arrive.
- Operates driving range equipment to ensure that range balls are clean and available for our guests and ensure the range is clean and presentable at all times.
- Assists with daily golf course set up to include practice facility, water stations, towel buckets and other associated tasks.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the golf shop exterior to include walkways, deck, golf cart paths and the areas near and around the golf cart barn.
- Provides professional customer service to our guests at all times.
- Assists Head Golf Professional during tournaments with set up of course, tear down, organization of facility and golfers.
- Assists the golf shop attendants as needed.
- Serves as Player Assistant during tournaments as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 16 years of age, and currently attending high school, OR, any age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to work hours other than the regular daytime schedules such as weekends, evenings, and all holidays except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Valid Driver's License from any U.S. State. (Approximately 70% driving time in a company vehicle). Must be able to obtain a Texas license within 90 days of hire.
- Six or more months or more of related experience in a customer service capacity.
- Six or more months of experience working at a golf course.
- Six or more months using golf carts, golf ball washer, and range ball dispensing equipment, either as a golf course worker or a recreational golfer.
- Experience using a grass/leave blower, air compressor, battery charger, and pressure washer.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- When requested, must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to include steel-toed leather boots, gloves, eye protection, head protection, safety vest, and ear protection.
- Workers must be in compliance with safety procedures and usage of safety equipment.
- Ability to communicate with other City employees and the general public in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
- Skill in operating assigned equipment, tools and vehicles safely.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, the public, elected officials, and boards and commissions.
- Ability to use the following equipment: golf carts, golf ball washer, range ball dispensing equipment, grass/leave blower, air compressor, battery charger, and pressure washer.
Physical Demands & Additional Information
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee may be required to walk steep slopes (up and down). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally loud.
