The Ballpark at League City is a premier recreational facility offering a diverse range of activities for youth and adults. Our facility boasts bat and ball turf fields, indoor arenas for soccer and flag football, sand volleyball courts, and a vibrant atmosphere with two restaurants serving a full menu and alcohol beverages. In addition to sport events, the facility also hosts special events, private gatherings, and provide a hub for community engagement and active lifestyles.
The Sports Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Ballpark at League City. This position manages sports operations staff, enforces safety protocols, ensures high-quality customer experiences, and maintains operational standards during scheduled league nights and weekend tournaments. The ideal candidate will serve as the point of contact in the absence of management and be instrumental in upholding the facility’s welcoming and professional atmosphere.
This is a safety sensitive and/or DOT position. As such, you will be required to participate in random drug testing at the city.
- Plan, organize, implement, and oversee recreational sports leagues and athletic events for youth and adults including schedules, registration, team formation, and facility use.
- Serve as primary liaison between the City and league participants, coaches, umpires, and volunteers.
- Supervise and train part-time Sports Operations personnel including Front Gate Attendants, Member Services Representatives, Umpire in Chief, and Umpires.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and established rules and guidelines for each sport.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve conflicts or issues with sports programs in a timely and professional manner in absence of General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Sports Manager.
- Support removal or escorting of guests from the premises, when necessary, due to ejection, injury, or misconduct.
- Assist with oversight and evaluation of umpires and referees, providing feedback as needed.
- Monitor athletic fields and facilities, submitting work orders or maintenance requests as needed.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Provide support for other park-related departments during peak periods.
Assist in the promotion of sports programming and recruitment efforts.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- At least one (1) year of related experience
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience in a recreational or sports facility
First Aid/CPR certification
Conflict resolution or customer service training
- Knowledge of sports programming, rules, and safety standards.
- Ability to work with diverse age groups and backgrounds in a positive and inclusive manner.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., set up equipment, and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.

Work is primarily conducted at The Ballpark at League City. Duties may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions. Exposure to noise, crowds, and field environments is routine.
