What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forestry Intern position at City of Kirkwood?
The City of Kirkwood, Missouri is currently searching for one candidate to participate in our paid summer Urban Forestry Internship! In this challenging and rewarding position, you will assist the Urban Forester with day-to-day operations and management of Kirkwood's urban forest. The summer internship program will provide participants with the opportunity to explore multiple aspects of urban forestry including; tree watering, tree risk assessments, tree surveys using a GIS management software, project plan review, construction site inspections to ensure contractor compliance, tree planting planning, and general management of an urban forestry program.
- Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Previous experience in Forestry, Landscaping, Natural Resources, or related field is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
Summer Internship: August through October, some flexibility available.
Full Time: Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM, some flexibility available.
Pay: $15.00 an hour
