What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary/Seasonal-Facility Helper (Parks & Recreation) position at City of Kingsport?
Facility Helpers perform duties of assigned facilities including but not limited to: opening/closing facilities, monitoring/controlling participants and spectators, maintaining program and facility equipment, and facility cleanliness. This position works under the supervision of Kingsport Parks & Recreation Program Coordinators, Program Administrators, & Program Leaders & Facility Supervisors.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for opening and closing the facilities.
- Responsible for setting up, breaking down, and storing any equipment needed.
- Responsible for keeping inventory of program equipment and paperwork then communicating to KPR when supplies run low.
- Ensure that time sheets are filled out completely and submitted to KPR.
- Maintain participant and crowd control, while ensuring that all facility rules are being followed.
- Periodically checking parking lots, facility grounds, and playground areas for trash or potential maintenance issues.
- Ensure that the facility is clean and free of trash when opening and closing facilities Including Restrooms.
- Fill out accident/incident reports as needed.
- Report to Facility Supervisors is issues arise with customers or facilities.
Requirements:
- Must be 15 years old.
- Knowledge of specified programs and equipment.
- Ability to work with the public in a respectful manner.
- Ability to self-motivate and make decisions based on evaluating a situation.
- Must be dependable and able to work nights and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for the majority of the required shift.
Must be able to work outside for the entire scheduled shift.
Salary : $15,724 - $16,107
