Part Time: 10 Hrs/Week
To teach Martial Arts. Reports to the Leisure Service Supervisor.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (This is descriptive, not restrictive as to all tasks included in this position):
To instruct Martial Arts classes.
To be the representative for the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department at martial arts classes for interpretation of the rules and regulations.
To be responsible to report to the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department any problems that may occur during class.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / HOURS WORKED:
Will be required to work at assigned location of martial arts class. Work hours will be determined by schedule set for karate classes by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directions from the Leisure Service Manager and Program Coordinator concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department Leisure Service Division. Must be able to act as a mediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during class.
PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:
Standing, bending and moving constantly during class instruction time.
MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
To be able to comprehend verbal or written direction and instructions from Leisure Service Manager or Program Coordinator.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Martial Arts equipment
HUMAN RELATIONS INVOLVEMENT:
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must have a background in Martial Arts.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior background in Martial Arts or Martial Arts instruction.
