Work Location: 4600 E. 63rd Street

Pay Starting at: $17.35 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with the daily operation and oversight of the natatorium.

• Ensure aquatic areas are safe, clean, organized, and prepared for scheduled activities.

• Conduct routine facility inspections and identify safety, maintenance, or operational concerns.

• Monitor and maintain pool water quality standards in accordance with health regulations and City 

procedures.

• Complete and review required documentation including chemical logs, inspections, incident reports, and 

operational records.

• Assist with inventory management, equipment inspections, and supply ordering.

• Communicate facility needs and follow up on maintenance concerns.

• Provide leadership and direction to lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatic staff.

• Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring aquatic team members.

• Reinforce expectations related to safety, professionalism, customer service, attendance, and job performance.

• Provide corrective feedback and coaching when expectations are not met.

• Assist with onboarding and training of new aquatic employees.

• Support consistent enforcement of facility rules, procedures, and emergency protocols.

• Assist with scheduling and identifying staffing needs.

• Maintain active Lifeguard certification and perform lifeguard duties as needed.

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide lifesaving care when required.

• Maintain constant surveillance of aquatic areas.

• Conduct and assist with emergency drills and staff in-service training.

• Ensure lifeguards are following rotations, scanning expectations, and safety procedures.

• Review incidents and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Promote a culture where safety is the priority

• Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of aquatic programs.

 

REQUIRES: 

• 6 months of experience in community recreation, sports instruction, arts education, or related programming (e.g., coaching, 

teaching art or music).

• May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

• Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
