THIS POSITION IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED AND MAY CLOSE WITHOUT NOTICE
Duties include performing lifeguarding tasks as required by certifying agencies; assuring prevention of incidents at aquatic facilities and constant readiness to proceed as a first responder; conducting instructional programs; providing first responder support at special events as needed; and handling pool maintenance tasks and facility cleaning. Duties also include answering the telephone, greeting visitors, and providing information and assistance to patrons. Duties typically may require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be at least 16 to be hired, and be able to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR certification required prior to hire. (The Parks and Recreation Department offers certification classes.) Hours will vary and may at times include evenings and weekends. Some shifts may include early morning hours. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application. Starting pay is $16.72 per hour. PLEASE NOTE: When anyone is hired, an I-9 must be completed to confirm eligibility to work in the United States.
