Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
Under administrative direction of the Supervisor, Nuclear Monitoring Operations Unit, serves as working supervisor for the Nuclear Monitoring Maintenance staff. Designs and coordinates remote monitoring system hardware, communications and software improvements; conducts an inventory control program; administers the Historical Equipment Failure and Repair Program; serves as Operations Duty Officer after hours and on weekends; manages finances for Nuclear Monitoring Maintenance. Travels throughout the state in performance of duties.
Minimum Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of: (a) a Master's degree in electronics engineering, health physics, nuclear physics, radiation safety or related field; or (b) a Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, health physics, nuclear physics, radiation safety or related field supplemented by four (4) years of appropriate experience. Preference is given to candidates who possess a formal degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Illinois nuclear facilities. Requires extensive travel. Management and supervisory experience involving highly complex engineering and technical programs and technical staff is desirable.
