Position Summary: The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office seeks attorneys dedicated to public service, public safety, and fairness and justice for all who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The Misdemeanor and Level 6 (MI6) Paralegal position requires a self-motivated Paralegal to assist Deputy Prosecutors on Level 6 and Misdemeanor cases, including case preparation.

Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with members of the Marion County Clerk’s Office and IMPD IDENT.
- Communicate with surrounding counties and out-of-state agencies.
- Prepare new cases for Deputy Prosecutors and assist as requested.
- Update information in our case management system.
- File documents with the Court.
- Gather information from external databases.
- Request evidence from Law Enforcement and other agencies.
- Send evidence to the assigned Defense Attorney.
- Manage EFS notifications in outlook.
- Mail out subpoenas and letters.
- Review body worn camera footage.
- Coordinate with the Secretary to ensure deadlines are met.
- Follow the Marion County Prosecutor’s personnel policies, particularly with regard to confidentiality.
- All other duties as assigned by your administrator.
Job Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines, preferred.
- The candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or paralegal certification, or two (2) years of related work experience, preferred.
