What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Manager- Indianapolis World Sports Park position at City of Indianapolis and Marion County?
Position is responsible for management of programs, services, facilities, and personnel at designated park location. Work related activities may incorporate all facets of recreational programming and service delivery in various physical environments and weather conditions.Designs and implements recreational programs in the core service areas of sports and fitness, the arts, youth and family programs, seniors and special needs.
Develops and manages all fiscal resources, contracts and partnerships for the park.
Oversees and coordinates a volunteer community park advisory council.
Manages the training and professional development of personnel at park location.
Assesses the recreational needs of the community, plans, designs, implements and evaluates programs and services at location.
Facilitates a volunteer advisory council representative of the neighborhood and user groups to the park facility.
Develops budgetary needs of the park recreation services to be provided.
Projects, monitors and adjusts spending and revenue to best meet the goals and performance measurements of the park location.
Oversees the ordering and purchasing of supplies, materials and equipment for the park location.
Monitors, evaluates and recommends improvements, repairs, or changes to the resources of the park location to best meet the needs of the community.
Responsible for proper collection and depositing of revenues.
Responsible for on-site contract compliance monitoring.
Adheres to resource management criteria of the department in the management of park facilities.
Coordinates the training and monitoring of adherence to department policy and procedure at park location.
Manages the customer service relations at the park location including all forms of communication with the public, marketing of programs and service.
Processes customer inquires and complaints, training and monitoring on site staff related to customer service skills.

Ability to learn computer applications for purchasing, budgeting, program registration, facility reservations. Ability to work productively under general supervision. General ability to utilize a personal computer for word processing, e-mail, scheduling, data base spreadsheets. Must interact regularly with other divisions, departments and agencies to maintain adequate resources and services on site. Must be self-motivated. Must be exceptional written and oral communication skills. Must be customer service oriented. Licenses/Certifications required: Ability to obtain: CPR and First Aid Teaching Certificate, Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License, NYSCA Clinician Certification, Prefer CPRP (Certified Parks & Recreation Professional).Park Managers are assigned to the park location as a primary work location. Work hours may include holidays, weekends and evenings. Park Managers will be expected to travel to various locations for work related activities. Park Managers may be in working environments that are very isolated (i.e. they are the only staff on site at a particular time). Park Managers are on-call on a 24 hours, 7 days a week.
