Division: Hurst Conference Center

Job Type: Part Time, As Needed

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary/Pay Rate: $17.00 hourly

Position Summary

Set up and tear down of AV equipment. Work with clients to connect their presentations to projectors and house sound. Assist staff and clients with evening and weekend events; must have availability days, evenings, Saturday and/or Sunday.

Essential Job Functions

1. Works under the supervision of the Technical Services Coordinator.

2. Sets up, operates, and maintains audio & video equipment.

3. Can connect laptops to projectors, open PowerPoint presentation, move files between computers, etc.

4. Coordinates with third-party vendors when required.

5. Oversees that all events are coordinated and executed in a professional and safe manner.

6. Available to work irregular schedule as required ensuring proper supervision of events and activities scheduled in the Hurst Conference Center.

7. Act in a professional and courteous manner towards clients and staff. Customer service skills are a vital part of the job.

8. Performs other tasks as assigned by General Manager or Acting Manager on Duty.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of methods, practices, equipment and machinery used in setups and teardowns, and of general technical service procedures.

Ability to work a varied schedule under diverse conditions and according to sometimes-stringent time schedules.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and establishes priorities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to deal effectively and courteously with guests and clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,

common fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands

and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally

required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and climb or balance. The

employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

Some experience and basic knowledge in event production e.g. audio visual, sound/light mixers, decorative lighting, and event support.


Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and essential job function screening.
