About our Department:
The Sanitation Division is charged with the responsibility of providing garbage collection to residential and commercial solid waste customers. It is also responsible for the collection of trash and yard waste as well as bulky waste for Huntsville’s residential solid waste customers.
Sanitation Accounts Coordinator Position Overview:
This is a supervisory and technical work directing, supervising, coordinating, and participating in the activities of subordinates performing their work assignments. Work involves planning and supervising city-wide delivery/repair cart system. Work involves formulating and maintaining computer databases and systems for routing, mapping, billing, reporting and inventory purposes.
Work involves responsibility for establishing a database to maintain auto-cart inventory and customer locations. Work also involves responsibility for maintaining a current billing database of customers receiving sanitation services and coordinating billing activities with the utility department. Employee is also responsible for verifying billing invoices and records from the solid waste disposal authority and for preparing computer generated reports and charts.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency and experience in a responsible clerical position. Some supervisory experience is desired.
