Now Hiring: City of Huntington Seeks Directors for Summer Day Camp
Do you want to work with kids this summer while making a difference in your community? Huntington’s Summer Parks and Recreation for Kids Program (S.P.A.R.K.) is back for 2026! S.P.A.R.K. is a six-week day camp program for kids. In addition to sports and games, day campers will also create art projects and complete challenges.
S.P.A.R.K. Directors lead a six-week summer day camp at Huntington’s parks. The program begins Monday, June 1st and ends on Friday, July 10th (S.P.A.R.K. will not meet on June 19th or July 3rd). The application window is now open for the 2026 season and interviews will begin immediately. Directors must attend a mandatory training on Wednesday, May 27th from 9:30AM – 3:30PM. This is a paid position and all training will be compensated.
S.P.A.R.K. benefits the community in a variety of ways. The kids who participate get to spend time outdoors enjoying the park system, playing sports and creating lifelong memories. Program Directors benefit from the job experience, and build on their organizational, leadership, and youth engagement skills.
Directors must be at least 18 years old by the date of orientation, which is May 27, 2026 and possess a valid driver’s license.
