Job Summary:
The City of Huntington Utilities Department is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team for the summer season. This position provides hands-on experience supporting daily operations and maintenance activities within the department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the Service Line Inventory Program, including data collection and field inspections
- Perform general groundskeeping and landscaping around water department facilities
- Paint and maintain fire hydrants throughout the city
- Help with general cleanup and organization at department sites
- Assist full-time staff with routine maintenance tasks and small projects
- Follow all safety guidelines and report any hazards or incidents promptly
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass a background check
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Physically able to lift up-to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Schedule:
May 2026 – August 2026
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
