What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Services Assistant (Part-Time) position at City of Henderson?
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Vehicle Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Department of Public Works. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual/mechanical work functions associated with vehicle and equipment maintenance; performs related duties as assigned.
VACANCY INFORMATION:· This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.
· This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation.
· This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS).
· Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need.

- Graduation from high school, vocational school or the equivalent
- One (1) year of full-time experience performing a variety of tire services to include dismounting, mounting, repairing, and balancing vehicle and equipment tires up to 24.5” in diameter, or one (1) year of full-time experience performing preventive maintenance inspections and servicing vehicles and equipment
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license as defined by NRS 483
