Economic Development Director, City of Haysville, Kansas
The City of Haysville is seeking a motivated and strategic professional to serve as our next Economic Development Director. This role is key to driving business growth, attracting new opportunities, and enhancing the city’s economic vitality.
Salary Range:
$64,708 – $97,843 annually
($31.11/hour starting)
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Deputy Administrative Officer, this position leads the planning, development, and implementation of programs that support local businesses, attract new industry, and promote Haysville as a great place to live and work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage economic development programs and initiatives
• Attract new businesses and support existing industry
• Promote the City through marketing and community engagement efforts
• Collaborate with local, regional, and state partners
• Research and recommend incentive opportunities for business growth
• Represent the City on boards, committees, and at events
• Support community engagement through events such as Trick-or-Treat on Main Street, Gathering at the
Gazebo, Home Show, Business Appreciation Event, and yard decorating contests
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 3–5 years of economic/community development experience
• Experience in business attraction, retention, and expansion
• Strong skills in budgeting, analysis, and program development
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with stakeholders
• Valid Kansas driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
