SUMMARY
You create an amazing experience for library customers. You greet people with a smile and welcome them into the library. You build relationships by being knowledgeable about the library’s products and services and making recommendations to customers to enrich their lives and promote lifelong learning.
Typical duties of Library Experience Assistant include the following:
You enthusiastically greet and assist customers, employing effective customer service skills.
You efficiently perform general circulation routines as appropriate: check-in, check-out, and renewal of materials.
You are eager to assist customers in finding materials in the library and electronically.
You are diligent in processing applications for and issuing new Library cards for all customers.
You courteously answer phone calls, text messages and emails from customers.
You are willing to provide technology support to customers with a variety of devices including computers, smartphones, tablets, and makerspace equipment.
You appreciate a tidy, organized library and keep work areas of library facilities clean and orderly.
You take pride in respecting the confidentiality of library users and records.
You can confidently handle disruptive situations.
You show your creativity and assist with passive programming throughout the library as directed.
You are excited to assist with library displays and complete book reviews.

Qualifications
Graduated from high school or the equivalent and have customer service experience.
Hours of Work
20 hours per week (includes day, evening and weekend hours)
