What are the responsibilities and job description for the Victim Witness - Assistant Director position at City of Hampton?
The purpose of this job within the organization is to assist the Victim Witness Director in providing information, crisis intervention, and specialized referrals to victims and witnesses of crime. This job works under general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.

- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Requires three (3) years in direct delivery of human services, case management and crisis intervention techniques or closely related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position.
- May require working non-standard hours including evenings, holidays and weekends.
- May require some local travel.
- Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
Salary : $66,448 - $119,606
