What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lift Station Mechanic position at City of Hallandale Beach?
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical work in the maintenance and repair of mechanical machinery and equipment at lift stations, water/sewer facilities, and distribution and collection systems. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude. Relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.

Supplemented by one (1) year of previous experience including repair and maintenance of wastewater pumping systems.
Two (2) years of closely related mechanical and plumbing work experience in a non-water utility industry will be evaluated and considered in substitution of water utilities industry experience.
Must have and maintain a current Wastewater Collections C or higher.
Must have a Class B commercial driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment or be able to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
