Permits/Licensing Technician I

Starting Pay $18.85/hour

The Permits/Licensing Technician I serves as the front office person in the Engineering Department and reports to the Permits Manager. The employee assists the department by performing related administrative and support tasks in the application, intake, research, and processing of all types of permits and licenses and related forms used by the department.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of college preferred.

Experience: Minimum three years in office procedures and customer service in which individual displayed competency in computer skills, document processing and interaction with the public. Experience in an office environment required. Knowledge of administrative processes related to building codes, zoning law and government licensing programs strongly desired.

License & Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license.

Essential Functions: Examples of duties may include but are not limited to: Processes, routes, and tracks applications and related materials for City permits and licenses and calculate fees for same; Generates invoices, performs and tracks citation routing and related charges; Reviews submitted application plans and specifications for completeness, researches ownership records and routes information to applicable agencies for review and follow up; Other duties as assigned.
