As a Program Assistant at Bryan Park's brand-new 12-court Pickleball Facility, you'll help launch one of Greensboro's newest recreational destinations. Whether you're assisting leagues, supporting tournaments, welcoming first-time players, or helping daily operations run smoothly, you'll play an important role in creating an outstanding experience for one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in 12 months.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us.

About the Role
The Program Assistant supports the daily operations of Bryan Park's new pickleball facility by helping ensure programs, leagues, tournaments, clinics, and recreational play run safely, efficiently, and enjoyably.
Working under the guidance of full-time Bryan Park staff, you'll assist participants, help coordinate activities, and contribute to an outstanding customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with daily facility setup, breakdown, court preparation, signage, and equipment.
- Welcome participants and provide outstanding customer service.
- Support league operations, including check-in, court assignments, scheduling, and score tracking.
- Assist with social play events, clinics, lessons, tournaments, and special events.
- Monitor drop-in play, manage court rotations, and maintain participant waitlists.
- Answer questions regarding facility operations, schedules, rules, registrations, and programs.
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment while enforcing facility policies.
- Assist with basic facility upkeep and report maintenance concerns.
- Support participant registration and point-of-sale or reservation system transactions.
- Communicate effectively with staff, instructors, volunteers, and participants.
- Perform additional duties that contribute to the success of Bryan Park's pickleball program.

Minimum QualificationsQualified candidates must possess:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of pickleball rules and gameplay.
- Prior experience in customer service, recreation programming, or racquet sports.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with youth, adults, active adults, and diverse community members.
