About the Role
This high-level HVAC position requires a professional who can work independently with little to no supervision, making informed decisions on the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, components, and wiring
- Designing and installing HVAC systems compliant with industry standards
- Working with building automation control systems (Johnson Controls, Automated Logic, Tracer Summit, Honeywell, etc.)
- Maintaining required certifications (i.e., a State Plumbing & Heating Contractor's License H-1, 2, or 3 or higher and a Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (Freon) recovery license)
- Ability to work on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, hot water pumps, heat pumps, split HVAC systems, and packaged HVAC units. Must maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Overseeing and assisting with training new maintenance mechanics
- Operating safely in compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Work will involve lifting up to 25 pounds and tasks requiring walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 4-6 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair)
- “OR” No HSD/GED with 8-10 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience
- “OR” Associate’s Degree with 2-4 years of hands-on 'commercial' HVAC equipment experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (Freon) Recovery License
- State Plumbing & Heating Contractor’s License (H-1, H-2, or H-3)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in additional mechanical trades such as Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Carpentry (please indicate on your application)
- Experience working with building automation control systems such as Johnson Controls, Tracer Summit, Automated Logic, Honeywell (please indicate on your application)
- Experience/Knowledge of computer software, iPads, and general office equipment
