Six (6) months of additional experience over minimum requirements: $16.20 per hour
One (1) year of additional experience over minimum requirements: $16.79 per hour
Requirements
Thank you for your interest in employment with the City of Greenacres. You must be able to meet the minimum following requirements:
- Must have graduated from an accredited high school, or have obtained a State of Florida G.E.D. certificate or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Must submit to a post-offer physical examination, drug screen and Level II fingerprinting . The offer of employment will be contingent on the results of testing and/or examinations.
- A minimum of three (3) professional/personal references must be provided.
- H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate
- College Diploma (if applicable)
- Veterans Preference documentation (if applicable)
- Military DD214 Form (if applicable)
- Military Discharge Certificate (if applicable)
Position Summary: Assists with the Community Center operations related to rental facilities, recreational activities, classes and programs. Collects payments, assists with facility set-up/breakdown and special events, and interacts with customers on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (The duties listed are intended to serve as an example of the typical functions performed. They are not exclusive or all-inclusive and will vary with assignments.)
- Assists with customer service; phone calls, inquiries, walk-ins related to rentals, events, classes, and recreational programs and activities.
- Markets all events and activities to the public.
- Receives various types of payments and reconciles those payments daily.
- Reviews daily schedules and implements appropriate room set-up or breakdown required.
- Coordinates room and pavilion rentals.
- Conducts Community Center opening and closing procedures and records completed responsibilities on the facility checklist.
- Assists with all special events; set-up, breakdown, marketing, etc.
- Work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and all major City events.
- Assists with minor custodial duties (sweeping, emptying trash, mopping, vacuuming, etc.), as requested.
- Conducts facility, field, basketball court, playground and pavilion usage checks; supervises/observes rentals and reports findings to Supervisors; and opens/closes park gates, field gates and restrooms, as requested.
- Gathers information to complete performance measures tracking.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures programs run smoothly and handles any emergency situations and discipline problems that may arise.
- Ensures safety, security, and cleanliness of facility (interior and exterior), equipment and vehicles, and reports any issues and/or damages.
- Communicates to appropriate program supervisor any problem, conflict or customer concern that may arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Sports rules and regulations and ability to execute them as needed.
- Basic programming for specific activities, sports, arts & crafts, etc.
- Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
- Cash and credit card handling experience.
- Pass and maintain the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Clearinghouse Level II background check.
- Handle various situations simultaneously, in a noisy and busy environment, or while operating a motor vehicle.
- Work with a diverse population.
- Perform light maintenance and custodial duties.
- Learn and implement policies, procedures, rules and regulations as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip inspection and operate city vehicles on all roadways in a variety of weather conditions.
- Administer Basic First Aid as needed and CPR in an emergency.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Maintain high standards for professional and ethical conduct.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public agencies, vendors and the general public.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Follow safety rules and regulations of the City and the Department.

- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
- One (1) year experience working with various groups in a community center, recreation or office/retail setting.
- One (1) year of cash handling experience.
- First Aid and basic CPR certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish/Creole preferred.
- Civic Rec or RecTrac experience preferred.
