What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide - Parks and Rec position at City of Grandview, MO?
POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to assist with ongoing recreation programs, special events, concessions, concerts at the amphitheater and Mobile Recreation Unit and more.
Job responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)
- Set up concession stand and obtain a food handlers permit
- Provide scorekeeping, officiate sporting games and supervise youth activities and game duties as assigned
- Set up for program activities and serve as an on-site assistant
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities and proper care of equipment during and after use
- Provide information on facility rules and division activities to participants and general public
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 15 years of age, or 18 to drive machinery. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Must be able to sustain a positive attitude and partner with other staff to provide a positive experience for children, coaches, volunteers, co-workers and provide feedback for parents; must be able to work independently and reliably complete tasks in a timely manner; willingness to comply with suspected child abuse reporting; First Aid/CPR and food handlers permit highly suggested; must have reliable transportation; must be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion, and significant awareness of confidentiality.
Physical Demands
Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee may be exposed to varying noise levels such as office noise and environment, noise from recreational programs, noise from operating vehicles, equipment and/or tools. Physical demand requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping and feeling. Employee must use hands for tools, machinery and for writing or typing. Employee must hear and talk with others, either in person or on the phone, to communicate information and ideas.
PAY
$15.00 hourly
