POSITION SUMMARY
Do you love the water? Are you 15 or older and looking for a rewarding job? The City of Grandview is hiring lifeguards for our award-winning community center, The View. With a schedule of 20 to 29 hours per week, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in our indoor pool and splash park.
Must be able to pass the American Red Cross Swim Test.
We are looking to fill morning shifts from 6:50am-12:00pm and daytime shifts from 8:00am-3:00pm. Will be flexible to work around school schedules if needed. No certification? No problem! We provide lifeguard certification training for the right candidates.
Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)
- Maintain high alertness to ensure safety
- Participate in ongoing training, including operational mannequin drops, pool safety checks, and CPR checks
- Enforce pool rules to ensure the safety of all participants
- Keep the pool deck clutter-free and perform maintenance duties
- Handle opening and closing procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years old or older
- Available shifts include Monday through Friday 6:50am – 9:00pm, Saturday 8:30am – 8:00pm and Sunday 10:30am – 6:00pm (We will work with students to arrange the schedules around school and sports when possible)
- Must be able to pass the American Red Cross Swim Test (continuous 300-yard swim using only front stroke and breast stroke, two minutes treading water with not using hands, and a timed brick retrieval test)
- Must be able to work some holidays and rotate weekend shifts
- Reliable transportation is required.
Pay
$15.00 per hour and certification training is paid!
