What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader III - Preschool Assistant position at City of Goodyear?
The Recreation Leader supports the planning, setup, coordination, supervision, and teardown of a variety of recreation programs and activities. This position primarily assists with Preschool programs and will also have opportunities to work in the Summer Recreation Program and Break Camps. This is a part-time role, with scheduled hours on weekday mornings between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate will possess at least six months of experience in the field of recreation or a related field. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Examination Process

- Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
- Communicate to the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Programmer regarding incidents, decisions, and issues pertaining to activities, events, or programs. Responsible for the completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
- Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
- Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to provide a safe and sanitary environment, notifies supervisor of any problems and/or concerns.
- Ensure city policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are strictly enforced; responds to and resolves complaints; advises and provides assistance to individuals and groups on related recreational problems; assist the general public and responds to their questions, comments, and/or concerns.
- Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains awareness of new developments in the recreation field and offer suggestions to the Recreation Programmer or Coordinator.
- Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested. Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
