- The salary for this role is $69,576.00 - $104,364.00 annually.
Holiday, Vacation, And Sick Leave
Regular status positions offer:
- The City of Glendale observes 10.5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.
- Vacation leave accrues at 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours/17.25* days per year), and increases to 6.12 hours after 5 years, and to 7.6 hours after 10 years of service.
- Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours/14.25 days* per year).
- Days per year estimates are based on an 8-hour work day.
Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12%.
- Manages complex special projects at the direction of the Economic Development Director.
- Assists with planning, coordinating and monitoring special programs or projects initiated by city leaders.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Researches and compiles demographic and economic data in response to internal and external client inquiries.
- Provides high-level administrative support to all Department divisions.
- Represents Economic Development at public engagements as directed by the Economic Development Director.
- Serves as liaison and/or assists with Department-specific boards and commissions
- Participates in the development and administration of department, division and/or operating budget; analyzes proposed capital, operating, and maintenance expenditures; prepares reports and analysis related to impact of budgetary decisions; prepares financial forecasts; tracks and monitors budget expenditures.
- Tracks office and program expenditures by recording expenses, alerting management to budget overruns and unusual expenses. Maintains a variety of financial records such as petty cash, purchase orders, and check requisitions.
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates activities associated with assigned contracts; participates in research and evaluation of proposed contractual obligations and agreements; assists in contract negotiations and administration; monitors compliance with applicable contractual agreements.
- Interprets data, identifies alternatives, and presents conclusions, forecasts, and recommendations based on data summaries and other findings.
- Coordinates, implements, and monitors special projects within assigned area of responsibility; performs complex research and analysis of new programs, services, policies, and procedures; prepares and presents reports.
- Assists in the coordination of interdepartmental and departmental activities with other City departments and divisions and with outside agencies.
- May supervise, provide direction to or oversee the work of less experienced staff.
- Monitors and ensures timely compliance with regulatory matters and reporting requirements.
- Represents the department by attending meetings and committees; presents information to staff, departments, and management.
- Participates in the long-range planning, development of marketing strategies, and recommendation of goals for all Department divisions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
