Summary
Responsible for providing clerical accounting support and front desk reception services for an assigned department. This position performs routine financial duties while serving as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and callers. Work involves handling financial transactions, maintaining records, and delivering excellent customer service.
Pay Range: $17.03 - $21.80 ( Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides general information regarding departmental services, policies, and procedures.
Maintains front desk operations and ensures a professional office environment.
Performs data entry of financial transactions into accounting systems.
Assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
Prepares, reviews, and processes invoices, receipts, and payment records.
Balances and reconciles daily cash receipts and basic financial reports.
Maintains accurate and organized financial and administrative records.
Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities.
Supports audits and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field of study
4 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field of study
4-6 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of accounting practices and office procedures
Skill in operating standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting terminology and methods
Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with municipal or government financial systems (e.g., Workday or similar ERP systems)
Basic arithmetical skills and cash handling experience
Basic financial record keeping skills

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
This is a fully on-site position with a regular schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
