ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assists in the daily operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with established procedures and standards and federal, state, and local laws and regulations;
• Inspects and/or monitors pumps, charts, gauges, motors and other plant equipment daily;
• Assists in the collection of samples for lab tests;
• Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of chemicals and other supplies;
• Performs servicing of plant equipment, assists in maintaining plant, including preventative maintenance programs;
• Performs minor repairs and/or adjustments on plant equipment;
• Assists in cleaning and maintenance of plant and grounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions; work includes sitting, standing, stooping, walking, using ladders and stairs in confined spaces, and lifting objects of more than 50 pounds. Exposed to noise, machinery, and its moving parts. Also, exposed to fumes, chemicals and toxic substances.
Standard work hours are from 5 pm to 5 am, after initial training is completed. Training will occur Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
