Engineering Representative II Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (hours may vary)

What You'll Do
You'll play a key role in reviewing development projects, coordinating with builders and engineers, and helping ensure utility systems meet standards. This is a hands-on role where technical knowledge meets communication and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Review sanitary, stormwater, and water plans for compliance with local, state, and federal standards • Coordinate project reviews, permits, and approvals while supporting developers and internal teams • Investigate project concerns through site visits, research, and follow-up communication • Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation for leadership and public meetings • Support economic development efforts by evaluating system capacity, costs, and expansion opportunities
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workflow of team members • Train and support staff across Development Services
What You Bring | Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Urban Planning, Business, or related field (Associate's degree with experience considered) • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant engineering, utilities, or development experience • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once • Comfortable working with developers, contractors, and the public • Ability to interpret technical plans, regulations, and data
Preferred Certifications
- Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months) • Valid Indiana Driver's License
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Familiarity with systems such as GIS/ArcMap, Accela, PMIS, or similar platforms • Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, easements, and technical documents • Strong written and verbal communication skills
