Theatre Technician – Stage Hours vary; evenings, weekends, and holidays during event season
Keep our shows running smoothly from backstage – coordinate, support, and execute live productions.
What You'll Do Serve as the primary backstage contact for touring crews and performers, coordinating stage operations and ensuring the show flows safely and efficiently. Assist with load-in, stage setups, changeovers, and backstage needs for concerts and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate backstage operations and communicate event schedules
- Manage stage layouts, equipment moves, and credentialed access
- Greet touring personnel and provide backstage orientation
- Relay cues, stage calls, and updates to artists and crew
- Monitor backstage safety, including power routing, trip hazards, and weather protocols
- Support additional backstage staff and assist with stage resets as needed
- Maintain communication with Theatre Production Lead, Theatre Manager, and FOH staff
Skills & Experience
- High school diploma; advanced theater or live event education preferred
- Experience in stage management, live event coordination, or touring support preferred
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and outdoors
Preferred
- ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician
- Experience with tools, machinery, and stage equipment
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs; prolonged standing and walking
- Moderate exposure to dust, noise, and variable lighting conditions
