Energy Engineering Intern

What You'll Do
Work alongside professional engineers and interns in Fort Wayne's Utility Energy Engineering & Sustainability Services. This internship offers both office and field experience, exposing you to energy systems, sustainable infrastructure, treatment facilities, dams, and reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with field reconnaissance and data collection for energy projects
- Support preliminary report preparation and field verification
- Analyze energy data using Excel and pivot tables
- Conduct research, maintain data tracking systems, and organize files
- Complete required City training modules
What You Bring
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering or Electrical/Energy Engineering Technology
- Minimum of two years of college completed
- Curious, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work collaboratively
Preferred Certifications
- Valid Indiana Driver's License, or
- Valid driver's license with certified driving record if using a City vehicle
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
- Ability to read and apply technical information, diagrams, and calculations
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
