Electrical Engineering- Intern

Are you curious about electrical systems and excited to analyze, improve, and design real-world utility infrastructure?
What You'll Do
- Gather field data and verify plans against existing electrical systems
- Analyze electrical infrastructure: switchgear, motor control centers, panelboards, circuit breakers, and more
- Prepare preliminary reports, present recommendations, and assist with design plans
- Inspect lift stations and report findings
- Support engineers in planning, design, and specification writing
- Complete City training modules
What You Bring
- Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum two years of college completed
- Interested in environmental engineering, water, and wastewater facilities
- Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to analyze and improve systems
- Able to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and utility staff
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of electrical systems and infrastructure
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, reports, and data
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift focus between projects
- Willingness to learn and apply new methods in a practical, real-world utility setting
