Electrical Engineering- Intern

Are you curious about electrical systems and excited to analyze, improve, and design real-world utility infrastructure?

What You'll Do

• Gather field data and verify plans against existing electrical systems
• Analyze electrical infrastructure: switchgear, motor control centers, panelboards, circuit breakers, and more
• Prepare preliminary reports, present recommendations, and assist with design plans
• Inspect lift stations and report findings
• Support engineers in planning, design, and specification writing
• Complete City training modules

What You Bring

• Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• Minimum two years of college completed
• Interested in environmental engineering, water, and wastewater facilities
• Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to analyze and improve systems
• Able to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and utility staff

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of electrical systems and infrastructure
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, reports, and data
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift focus between projects
• Willingness to learn and apply new methods in a practical, real-world utility setting
