Computer Science Intern

What You'll Do
- Assist with field data collection and verification for engineering systems
- Analyze and maintain network, instrumentation, and control data
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data for planning or design projects
- Develop and test AI/automation solutions to improve workflows and efficiency
- Support database administration, scripting, and low-code tool integration
- Contribute to pilot projects and documentation for AI-driven process improvements
- Complete City training modules
What You Bring
- Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum two years of college completed
- Curious, innovative, and eager to apply AI and automation in real-world projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with engineers, contractors, and utility staff
- Interest in analyzing systems, data pipelines, and operational workflows
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with AI concepts: Large Language Models (LLMs), AI assistants, AI agents, prompt engineering
- Basic scripting/programming (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
- Experience with databases, Excel, or other data analysis tools
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, diagrams, and engineering data
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
