- Draft, prepare or review documents, including memos, letters, reports, ordinances, resolutions, procurement contracts, agreements, pleadings and findings; conduct legal and factual research as needed to prepare materials and documents.
- Provide paralegal support in transactions; assemble and verify all deliverables for accuracy, coordinate circulation of documents for execution and distribution; complete the recording process.
- Provide paralegal support in administrative hearings; oversee the assembly, delivery, and receipt of discovery requests and responses; schedule hearings and court reporters, and witness interviews; prepare trial management orders, hearing notebooks, exhibit lists, and exhibits; assist at hearings as needed.
- Maintain and update files.
- Monitor the status and deadlines on attorney(s) projects and keep attorney(s) informed and reminded of all upcoming deadlines.
- Coordinate and schedule complex meetings, administrative hearings, meetings with appropriate witnesses, defense counsel and other relevant persons.
- With attorney supervision, assemble and forward discovery to opposing attorney(s).
- Conduct library and computerized research on a variety of legal topics, including precedents, ordinances, and applicability of existing Federal and State case law.
- Perform quality control on City Attorney’s Office work products; edit and finalize legal opinions, briefs, and other legal documents for accuracy, including cite-checking, format and content. Perform initial review of complex purchasing agreements or other types of agreements.
- Assist with organization and management of records and preparation and review of responses to records requests.
