- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and training equivalent to four (4) years of college education in Computer Science, Information Management, Business, Accounting or other field, including three (3) to five (5) years of extensive work experience in computer operations and information management.
- Requires working knowledge of SQL database with experience sufficient to assist an SSRS engineer in creating reports.
- Should be skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license
The IT Systems Specialist, together with the City’s Managed Services Provider (MSP), VC3, manages the City's integrated business management data platform for core administrative and management functions. As the City’s enterprise software is all hosted as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the IT Systems Specialist serves as the City’s project manager for all major software/hardware implementations, co-managing those projects with the vendor and/or VC3. The IT Systems Specialist verifies the integrity of the data stored on the system and is responsible for initiating, managing, and monitoring new modules and projects. This position, with VC3, also oversees the City's document management system. The IT Systems Specialist is responsible for creating, compiling, and managing related reports based on his or her findings, complete with recommended improvements to-or new requirements for-security protocols, business processes, operational procedures, and corresponding data management and reporting structures.
