Description
The City of Fishers is hiring a full-time Building Maintenance Manager. This role directs the facility maintenance of the Fishers Community Center to ensure a clean, safe environment for both members and staff. Responsibilities include strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, inspection of work, investigation of complaints regarding maintenance/custodial services, and coordinating corrective action.
Examples of Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor youth and family programs in alignment with strategic and operating plans, evaluating their effectiveness and participation levels and adjusting schedules and format to enhance member satisfaction and meet the diverse needs of the membership demographic.
- Maintain communication with families on programs, schedules, and events. Act as the liaison between parents and program staff regarding parent or participant concerns and collaboratively solve conflicts.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff. When necessary, work with employees to correct deficiencies.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure compliance with regulations, and industry standards, including health codes, safety guidelines, and certifications.
- Develop and manage the Youth and Family programming budget including revenue generation, expense monitoring, and cost-effective resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records and assemble and analyze data as required to prepare reports.
- Assist in creating and distributing marketing material advertising program offerings.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
- Act as Manager on Duty for some evening and weekend rotations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four (4) or more years of experience coordinating maintenance/custodial activities in a facility similar to the Fishers Community Center.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of maintenance techniques (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) and work assignment planning and organization techniques including effective recordkeeping techniques.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and make independent decisions within established guidelines.
- Experience providing a high level of customer service to diverse internal and external customers.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana drivers license with a driving record that allows the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle.
- Must have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 60 days.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
