The City of Fernley has a vacancy in the Public Works Department
for a Maintenance Worker I in the Streets Department.
Qualifications
**MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:**
High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum one year experience as a laborer in construction, landscape maintenance and/or in maintenance work.
Special Requirements
Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License. Preferences may be given to those with a NV State issued CDL; Department of Transportation Flagging Certification; and/or Nevada Pesticide Applicators License.
Job Responsibilities/Duties
These are all entry level positions that will work under general supervision. General duties performing routine and semi-skilled heavy physical work in construction and maintenance in the following areas: the sewer/drain systems, streets and snow removal; parks, playing fields and other landscaped and recreational areas along with City facilities. This may include operating assigned vehicles skillfully and safely; observe safe driving practices; observe safe work methods and safety practices; use appropriate safety equipment. Capable of responding to emergency situations and to non-emergency events in off-hours as required.
