Please Note: This position is represented by Fairfield Part-Time Employees’ Association (FPTEA), is part-time, year-round, non-benefited, and limited to working no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Candidates must be available to work a varied scheduleto meet program needs, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Experience
- One (1) year experience in custodial work in a large office facility or commercial complex or one year experience in general building maintenance work.
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade is required.
Possession of a Valid Class C California State Driver's License is required.
Duties include but may not be limited to the following:
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of Community Resources facilities.
- Identify mechanical and electrical problems, make minor repairs and notify supervisors regarding major repair problems or important incidents.
- Set up and take down tables and chairs for Community Resources programs.
- Communicate building rules to the general public and City staff.
- Assist in the training and supervision of building attendants, volunteer maintenance workers and work furlough inmates.
- Update inventory of chemical storage and order chemicals and equipment.
- Recognize and implement appropriate area safety rules.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Methods and safe work practices of custodial and general maintenance work.
- Materials, equipment, and chemicals used in custodial and general maintenance work.
- Operate a variety of equipment used in custodial and general maintenance work.
- Recognize and locate maintenance problems and perform minor repairs.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Communicate effectively with the public.
- Work independently and prioritize work assignments.
- Read diagrams for daily setups.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
