Job Summary
Solicit group business and special events for the Fairfield Bay Conference Center through creative and selective selling. Meet or exceed planned revenue projections for the Fairfield Bay Conference Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ø Responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the conference center and hotel, while maintaining guest satisfaction.
Ø Develop and maintain relationships with clients in order to produce group and/or conference business.
Ø Schedule conferences and/or business group activities at the Conference Center and coordinate with other departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
Ø Identify and compile new business leads from various sources.
Ø Greet scheduled groups as they arrive and assist and anticipate their needs.
Ø Know the strengths and weaknesses of the Conference Centers competition to be able to maximize the centers strengths.
Ø Possess a general knowledge of Conference Center and Hotel departments, especially front of the house.
Ø Have complete knowledge of all hotel facilities, services, and hours of operation.
Ø Have knowledge of entertainment and special events scheduled in the hotel.
Ø Attends trade shows, association meetings and conventions as requested by Director of Sales.
Ø Maintain a clean and neat work area and appearance.
Ø Adhere to Conference Center's dress code policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Ø Sales, hospitality experience preferred, preferably in a conference center or hotel.
Ø Valid Driver license.
Ø Strong organizational and presentation skills.
Ø Professional and positive demeanor.
Ø Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
Ø Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter.
Ø Strong computer skills.
Physical Requirements
Ø Be able to stand for long periods of time.
Ø Be able to walk and climb stairs.
