POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains and repairs various types of property owned by the City of Erlanger by performing the following duties and work tasks as directed. Additional duties/work tasks may be assigned as deemed necessary by Department supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operates Backhoe safely to complete assigned work tasks
- Maintains city property, parks, and green space areas
- Operate bobcat safely to complete various task
- Repairs streets and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patch and/or concrete as needed
- Safely operate all vehicles/equipment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- Operates snow removal equipment to maintain City streets
- Maintains/repairs City owned buildings/structures as directed
- Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, bulbs, belts in machines, equipment, and vehicles
- Safely complete all tasks associated with annual leaf collection program
- Complete basic record keeping and reporting as directed

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required / Technical training preferred.
Experience: One to two years related experience in field or suitable equivalent
Computer Skills: Competent knowledge and ability to utilize operating systems as required for essential job tasks
Personal Protective Equipment: Ability to demonstrate proper use and maintenance of PPE required for job functions
Certificates & Licenses
- Valid Drivers License CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement- must obtain successfully within 180 days from first date of employment and must maintain. Maintain all other certifications and licenses as required
- Obtain/Maintain Flagger and Basic Work Zone certification as mandated by State regulations

Employee will be expected to safely use/operate various types of tools and light equipment/machinery
Employee shall demonstrate the ability to maintain a professional appearance and be able to communicate with the general public.
