Job Summary:
The City of Ellsworth is seeking mature and responsible people to perform boat inspections at the city managed Branch Lake & Green Lake boat ramps. These inspections help prevent the infestation of invasive plants & animals in Ellsworth’s drinking water supply. This is a seasonal position with flexible hours, including weekday and weekend shifts. Retirees and students are encouraged to apply. Season starts April 13, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of boats, trailers, and related equipment entering and exiting Branch Lake and Green Lake to identify and prevent the spread of invasive aquatic species.
- Perform decontamination procedures as needed in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide educational information to boaters about invasive species risks, prevention methods, and local regulations, helping promote stewardship of Ellsworth’s water resources.
- Monitor and maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment at boat launch areas, serving as a visible and helpful presence to the public.
- Accurately complete inspection logs and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Report any concerns, unusual findings, or incidents to the Water Steward promptly.

Work Environment:

Salary:
$17.00 per hour
