About this Position
The seasonal Lake Concessions Staff will operate one of the two concessions stands at Arcadia Lake. Seasonal concessions workers operate under the general supervision of the Assistant Fee Collection Coordinator. This is a non-supervisory, seasonal position that may be terminated if services are no longer required. Beginning in May, applicants may be able to work up to 40 hours.
Responsibilities
- Account for monies at the POS station(s)
- Ensure proper charging of concession fees
- Provide friendly, helpful service to customers
- Oversee the rental process for paddle boats (and other rentals) by reviewing safety policies, signing liability waivers, and securing boats
- Maintain the cleanliness of the store (including floor, storage shelves, under counters, etc.) by cleaning equipment, dumping trash, and organizing items
- Secure the store for the evening
- Enforce all City of Edmond Title 9 regulations governing Arcadia Lake
- Assist in weekly inventory
- Be well versed in the City of Edmond’s Lake and Procedure Manual, Safety Manual, etc.
- Maintain dress code and set a positive example for personal conduct at all times
- Enforce safety rules and encourage safety applications for employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Fee Collection Coordinator and Lake Manager
Qualifications
- Sufficient education to be able to read, write, and perform mathematical computations
- Experience exercising judgment, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with the public, other agencies, and all other City department personnel
Necessary Skills
- Knowledge of the capabilities and functions of computers/cash registers and related equipment
- Ability to handle money and account for it properly
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with employees and the public
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to undertake responsibilities with some initiative and judgment
- Ability and willingness to maintain information confidentially
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug test
