Stormwater Heavy Equipment Operator Position Available

Annual Salary: $38,334.40

General Summary:

Under general supervision performs various stormwater construction and maintenance operations. Reports to the Stormwater Superintendent

Description:

Performs routine stormwater work such as removing impediments in culverts and ditches, cutting driveways for changing culvert elevations, installing new culverts, rectifying existing culvert elevations, etc., occasionally shoots grades for drainage requirements

Cleans canals, installs culverts, repairs washouts, and performs other stormwater construction and maintenance activities

Adheres to best management practices when performing capital improvements or maintenance work including City codes, State and Federal rules and regulations

Hauls materials/supplies required for stormwater construction and maintenance activities

Performs routine inspection and maintenance on designated equipment to ensure safe and proper working condition; refers needed repairs to the vehicle maintenance division

In emergency situations may be required to assist in cleaning and clearing of City properties

Operates side mower or tractor mower for canal and right-of-way mowing

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma required

3 – 5 years of experience in operation of heavy trucks required

Valid Florida Commercial (Class “B”) driver’s license required

Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
