The City of East Lansing is seeking applicants for temporary summer help at the Department of Public Works. These positions perform a variety of duties related to the care and maintenance of an assigned division, following standard safety procedures and regulations; perform manual labor tasks related to assigned work; and operate appropriate equipment. All positions are primarily outdoors and run approximately mid May through August. Some positions start the first of May and run through September.
Temporary Position: Patriarche Park. Perform a variety of seasonal parks maintenance, cleaning and landscape duties. Weekend and evening hours.
Temporary Position: Softball Complex. Perform a variety of field maintenance, cleaning, and landscape duties. Weekends and weekdays, hours will vary.
Temporary Position: Parks Maintenance General Crew. Perform a variety of seasonal landscape duties throughout the City. Set 40-hour schedule Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Temporary Position: Street Maintenance General Crew. Perform a variety of street maintenance, pothole repair and sign maintenance duties throughout the city. Set 40-hour schedule Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Special Requirements
Minimum 18 years of age, valid Driver’s License, steel toed boots.
