What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker - Public Works position at City Of East Grand Rapids?
The seasonal worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks for the public works department. The employee will work up to approximately 40 hours per week for a maximum of 115 days.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work mostly in outside weather conditions. The employee will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fluctuations in temperature and occasionally chemicals.
Physical Labor:
The employee will be subject to prolonged physical activity including walking, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.

- Work on a packer truck for yard debris pickup
- Clean trucks
- Assist work crews with street repairs and routine maintenance
- Conduct outdoor physical labor
- The employee must have a valid driver's license or the have ability to obtain one
- The employee must be at least 18 years of age
