POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for network security, maintaining network infrastructures, performing upgrades and diagnostics, ensuring network availability to all system users, and providing technical support to end users.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Network Duties
1. Helps maintain all City sites using switches, routers, and firewalls.
2. Schedules work with vendors and contractors on network related issues.
3. Assists in server and network equipment patching and update planning.
4. Monitors network activity on all switches, routers, and firewalls.
5. Creates documentation showing network access and connections throughout the system with graph drawings.
6. Troubleshoots and repairs network related issues discovered by network monitoring or by help desk calls.
7. Performs or assists with the installation and maintenance of network hardware (storage, servers, firewalls, switches, pc, printers, and mobile devices) cloud services (Email, network backup solution), enterprise software solutions and desktop software. Remediate issues and problems as they are discovered. Make emergency configuration changes as needed.
8. Plans and implements employee security awareness training program, ongoing user education and user awareness to current threats.
9. Maintains and implements improvements to physical and virtual servers.
10. Maintains server and network backup systems to maintain data integrity of backups.
11. Assists in ensuring all networking equipment is maintained and up to date on manufacturer firmware and security patches.
Systems Duties
12. Monitors, maintains and updates application and database servers, email system, Active Directory and file system. Performs routine maintenance.
13. Analyzes and troubleshoots problems of computer users with applications, procedures, software, and hardware Citywide.
14. Installs and maintains software applications in a client/server environment.
15. Maintains data integrity through administration of comprehensive data backup and archiving systems.
16. Creates and maintains software application processes and procedures.
17. Plans, prepares, installs, and implements computer hardware and software/applications.
18. Analyzes and troubleshoots problems of computer users with applications, procedures, software, and hardware.
19. Assists in desktop/server replacement and migration. Determines unique needs for each user and department.
20. Maintains physical and virtualized server infrastructure.
21. Maintains Active Directory infrastructure and Group Policy Management.
22. Analyzes and troubleshoots problems of computer users with applications, procedures, software, and hardware.
23. Provides help desk support as needed.
24. Responds appropriately in emergency trouble shooting situations during work and/or non-work hours.
25. Other duties as assigned.
Pay: From $20.88 per hour
