DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. The listed examples may not include all duties found in this class):
- Sort, return, and place materials in their proper place on shelves in adult, teen, and children's circulation areas of library and in the storage collection
- Log-off computers and perform duties related to closing the library building such as picking up books, magazines, limited trash, and reminding patrons of closing
- Follows a weekly shelf reading schedule to keep books neat and in order
- Provide limited patron advisory services and assist patrons in finding materials and books while working in the stacks
- Retrieve items requested from the storage area, general circulation shelves, and library archives
- Retrieve books returned to the outside book drops
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and agencies, and the general public
- Maintain familiarity with and execute safe work procedures associated with assigned work
- Perform other related duties as required
