Responsible for managing the administration, facilities project team, and budgeting for the Facilities and Fleet Departments. Assist with the development and implementation of the department’s strategic plan, policies, and priorities.

DUTIES
- Manage the Administration and Business Services Divisions, overseeing user application support, operational reporting, and executive correspondence; actively participate in the strategic planning process, utilizing measurable data to assess operational effectiveness.
- Define and support administrative matters related to the City of Denton's fleet, including but not limited to, acquisition, replacement, asset management, maintenance, repair, and disposal.
- Plan, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned division workgroups; establish and maintain proper controls, safety measures, and accountability procedures for operations.
- Analyze and evaluate programs and services to meet internal and external stakeholder needs and goals; develop and implement corrective action(s) for program and/or service improvement.
- Research and identify innovative ideas to enhance services and programs for Citywide maintenance and development; ensure repository of maintenance records and availability of all City of Denton facility master plans, assessments, drawings, and architectural building plans.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on new facility requirements; provide appropriate requirements and review construction, as appropriate.
- Administer departmental contract management and support contract dispute resolution efforts.
- Monitor operational risks and proactively implement mitigating measures.
- Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; recommend assignment/assignment change, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budget; maintain accurate budget reporting; ensure that operations are cost-effective, and funds are managed wisely.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; and,
- Five (5) years’ experience in facilities management, facilities maintenance, fleet services, project management, local government, or related field; and,
- Three (3) experience in a supervisory capacity,
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)

- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours and weekends, as needed. Must attend regularly scheduled and special meetings.
