What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at City of Decorah?
The City of Decorah is seeking proposals from qualified firms and individuals to provide contractual building inspection services associated with new construction, additions, remodels, and other building permit activities within the city.
The selected contractor will assist the City with plan reviews, building inspections, code compliance reviews, and related construction oversight activities. The City is seeking a qualified professional with experience in residential and commercial building inspections and knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) outlines the scope of services, minimum qualifications, proposal requirements, and evaluation criteria. The contractor selected through the RFP process will enter into a professional services agreement with the City to provide building inspection services.
Interested firms and individuals may obtain a copy of the RFP from the City of Decorah. Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026. Proposals must be received by the City no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026. Late submissions may not be considered.
